Ceiling Fit

Every loft and bunk below is listed with its overall frame height, as the maker publishes it. The check works like this: clearance = ceiling − (frame height − 5″ + 34″). We assume the mattress top sits 5 inches below the rail top, which is the guardrail rule working as intended, and we ask for 34 inches of sitting headroom above the mattress. Positive clearance passes; within three inches we call it tight.

The arithmetic is deliberately conservative and deliberately visible. Redo it with your own tape measure; the frame height is on every product page.
